Development
The development of junior talent is a key interest of the Committee.
Although we do not have the resources to assist individuals with the purchase of equipment and lessons, we are intending to promote the benefits of doing this to the various Native Title Prescribed Body Corporates and other relevant charities around the State.
Typically, the PBCs have established charitable trusts, from which members can access funds for sporting equipment and development.
AGCSA supports and promotes the MyGolf program for junior development.
MyGolf is Australia's junior golf program, providing lessons for beginners with a focus on games-based activities and fun, and supported by Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia.
There are many beginner programs available across the country for juniors. To find a MyGolf program near you, click here.
TeeMates is another program run by Golf Australia (GA), which is an affordable virtual golf membership for kids under 18. GA has partnered with Youth on Course (YOC) to provide the opportunity for TeeMates members to play golf for $5 at a selection of courses across the country. Members will gain an official GA handicap and play at golf courses for a reduced fee rate while playing in events with friends.
The aim of TeeMates is to provide opportunities for children to play golf for a reduced rate in their own time, and in events with their peers. It will also allow children to gain an official GA handicap to help them begin their lifelong golfing journey and build a connection with their local club.
If you need any assistance in accessing the MyGolf or TeeMates programs, please send us an e-mail.
The AGCSA Committee wishes to acknowledge the magnificent support and assistance provided to the Club by Golf SA, and by Mr Allan Telford in particular. Allan has assisted the AGCSA over many years in organising the Aboriginal Golf Days and in the promotion of golf generally across the Aboriginal community.
