Aboriginal Golf Club of SA

Eugene Warrior

Glennis Warrior

Life members

Eugene and Glennis Warrior were bestowed with Life Membership at the AGM held on 28 April 2023.

Both Eugene and Glennis have been great ambassadors for Aboriginal golf in South Australia, with their involvement spanning 30 years (couple of young fullas). Eugene has also been on the National Aboriginal Golf Board for 10 years.

They have promoted and encouraged Aboriginal people to get into golf for many years, even before the AGCSA was formed.

The healthy relationship that the Club enjoys with Golf SA is in no small part due to the efforts of Eugene and Glennis.

They have played a key role in arranging many golf events across the state, including two national events: at Port Augusta in 2011; and at Grange in 2017.

They appropriately honoured Allan Dodd, Matt Rigney and May Graham/Turner and initiated a three-region competition across the State.

Some events even included health checks – which was symbolic to kind of people Eugene and Glennis are, not only was it about playing golf but it was also about looking out for our own individual health.

And they ensured that the ladies were involved and participating in them too. They were founding members of the Club and have worked on the committee for many years. And they know how to have a good laugh (well Zell and Glennis do anyway!!).
